The deadline for applying for admission to UNLV's new master of science program in physical therapy has been extended until Jan. 31.
The deadline originally had been set for Jan. 15, but it was extended after the department of physical therapy received a number of calls from potential applicants saying they just had learned of the program and needed more time to gather their application information.
The program, which is scheduled to begin offering classes this fall, is currently in the process of applying for accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association. If accredited, it will be the first physical therapy program in the state, said program director Harvey Wallmann.
Plans call for 20 students to be admitted annually to the 30-month program.
