UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research will present its annual "Economic Outlook Conference" Dec. 17 and 18. The same material will be presented each day.
At the conference, R. Keith Schwer, director of the center, and Mary Riddel, the center's associate director, will review current economic conditions and discuss the 2003 economic forecasts for Southern Nevada and the nation. Included in the discussion will be an overview of the Nevada budget shortfall and the taxes that are being considered to remedy the deficit.
The conference will take place 8-11:30 a.m. in the Blasco Event Wing of UNLV's Foundation Building.
Before Dec. 11, the cost of registering for the event is $65; it will be $75 after that date. Parking is included. Registered participants will receive the publication Economic Outlook 2003.
