The UNLV/Nevada Communities AmeriCorps program plans to solicit input from the public at a series of forums scheduled in November and December.
AmeriCorps is the Clinton administration's national service program that is intended to put people to work on community projects in exchange for living expenses and grants to be applied toward current or future education costs.
The forums, each of which will be devoted to a particular topic, are designed to gather information from community leaders, organizations, and residents. People interested in becoming AmeriCorps members or interested in utilizing AmeriCorps services also are encouraged to attend.
The following forums have been scheduled:
* Public Safety, Nov. 15
* Education, Nov. 17
* Environment, Nov. 29
* Human Needs, Dec. 1.
All of the meetings will take place at 6 p.m. in the Classroom Building Complex, Auditorium A-108.
