UNLV's fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 26, and the university will host numerous events to welcome new and returning Rebels to campus. New students will kick-off their college career during the new Rebel Welcome Day event Aug. 23; campus spirit will get a boost at the welcome BBQ, the annual Premier event, and the home football opener; and UNLV will send off its student-led Solar Decathlon team for a worldwide competition in California.

Residence Hall Move-In
Dates/Times: Thursday, Aug. 22 and Friday, Aug. 23 between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Location: Dayton Complex Residence Hall, South Complex, Upper Class Complex and Tonopah Hall
Description: More than 1,600 students are moving to campus and into the residence halls. All dorms are expected to be full. Take a look back at past Move-In days.

Rebel Welcome Day/UNLV Creates
Date/Time: Friday, Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Location: Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV
Description: Rebel Welcome Day includes a new program with motivational messages by UNLV staff and students designed to kick-start a student's college career. UNLV Creates is a TEDx-like event with topics that encourage curiosity and innovation. Freshmen will also receive Rebel Cords and make a pledge to graduate.

New Student BBQ
Date/Time: Friday, Aug. 23, from noon to 2 p.m.
Location: Alumni Amphitheater near UNLV Student Union Courtyard.
Description: UNLV's president hosts a BBQ for new students and their parents.

UNLV Fall Semester Begins

Description: Throughout the day, UNLV staff will run "ask me" booths to answer student questions. The booths will be located at the Student Union, Pida Plaza, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, and Lied Library.
Premier UNLV
Date/Time: Thursday, Aug. 29, 5 to 9 p.m.
Location: North Field (east of the UNLV Student Union, near the Lied Library)
Description: An annual tradition featuring fireworks and the formation of a giant illuminated "UNLV" created by hundreds of UNLV students and alumni with flashlights.
UNLV's Solar Decathlon Team Send-Off
Date/Time: Friday, Aug. 30 from 10 a.m.
Location: UNLV's Paradise Campus
Description: Come see DesertSol, the solar-powered home UNLV's Solar Decathlon Team has been building for this fall's U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013. Cheer the team as they celebrate the completion of the house before they disassemble and rebuild at the competition site in Irvine, Calif.

UNLV Rebel Football Home Opener vs. Arizona
