UNLV announced that its two accounting degree programs have received reaffirmation of their accreditation by the International Association for Management Education, the recognized accrediting body for business colleges in the United States.
Both UNLV's bachelor's and master's degree programs in accounting have received the reaffirmation, indicating that they have maintained the standards set by the association.
In addition, the College of Business has received continued accreditation, which will be reviewed in one year when a permanent dean has been hired.
"I am delighted that accounting received full reaffirmation by the International Association for Management Education," said Richard Morgan, interim dean of the College of Business. "It is a strong program and was recognized as such by the visitation team.
"I am also very pleased that the visitation team found the College of Business to be a sound college, and I look forward to the school receiving full reaffirmation once a permanent dean is in place." UNLV is one of only 142 institutions that have achieved separate accreditation of their accounting programs by the association.
