The 1999-2000 annual Economic Outlook Conference will be held 8:30-11:30 a.m., Dec. 15 at UNLV's Barron Hilton Auditorium in the Lied Athletic Complex.
The presentation will include reviews of the activities of both the national and the Southern Nevada economies, as well as forecasts for the coming year. These forecasts will include the most recent information from local and national surveys.
Among the subjects illustrating the economic health of Southern Nevada will be visitor and population trends, general business, residential construction, retail sales, automobile sales, and the local employment/unemployment status. Analysis of these subjects will reflect information from the most current studies. In addition, a review and analysis will be offered that will cover national activities including employment data, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), monetary policy, and international trading trends.
Dr. R Keith Schwer, the director for UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research, Dr. Mary Riddel, associate director of the center, and Robert Potts, senior research associate at the center, will lead the presentation at the annuaI conference.
