Timothy Erwin
Biography
Timothy Erwin is a UNLV professor of English and an expert on Enlightenment thought and culture. He has served as a traveling lecturer for the Jane Austen Society, as well as the president of both the Western Society for Eighteenth Century Studies and the Samuel Johnson Society of the West. He was a regional delegate for the Modern Language Association.
Erwin's book, Textual Vision, is a study of the intersection of literature and art from book illustration to the graphic novel, from the sister arts to media theory. He edited Chicago Review while pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago.
Prior to his retirement, he taught a variety of courses on the 18th century, from the rise of the novel to Jane Austen and visual culture.
