Biography

Mayra Pacheco is the program coordinator for Prevent Child Abuse Nevada at the Nevada Institute for Children’s Research and Policy housed within UNLV's School of Public Health.

Pacheco has over 15 years of experience working with families and youth, and has developed and implemented multiple programs to surround children and families with a community of support. Their focus has been on fostering healthy family relationships, youth leadership development, and strengthening literacy curriculum for English Language Learners.

In their current role, Pacheco provides training to parents and professionals on recognizing and reporting child maltreatment, preventing child sexual abuse, toxic stress and child development, cultural competency, and positive parenting, among other topics.
