Biography
UNLV Greenspun College of Urban Affairs professor Matt Eichner has taught a variety of university-level journalism courses — from beginning news writing to photojournalism to editing and design — since 2011.
Eichner's research interests center around trust in journalism and sports journalism. His doctoral dissertation, "Who's In?: A Political Economic Analysis of the College Football Playoff," explored the exploitation of student-athletes and advocated for their compensation and a more equitable distribution of funds among conferences.
Prior to academia, the award-winning journalist worked as a reporter, photographer, copy editor, managing editor, and sports editor at newspapers across the Pacific Northwest.
