Biography

Kenneth L. Reed is an expert in dentistry, with particular interest in dental anesthesiology.

Reed is the director of the Advanced Education Certificate Program in Dental Anesthesiology at UNLV’s School of Dental Medicine. Prior to joining UNLV, he completed residencies in periodontology (prevention and treatment of disease affecting the gums) and dental anesthesia, along with over a decade in private practice.

Additionally, Reed is a pilot and flight instructor with an airline transport pilot certificate. He is also a certified parliamentarian-teacher through the American Institute of Parliamentarians (rules that govern organizations).

Reed has been president of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and currently serves as president of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed journal publications, and has contributed to textbooks such as “Sedation: A Guide to Patient Management” and “Behavior Management in Dentistry for Children.”
