President Obama will travel to Las Vegas on Thursday for an official event at UNLV's Cox Pavilion. President Obama is scheduled to address student loan interest rates and the rising cost of education.
The event is free and open to the public, but to attend you must have a ticket.
Tickets will be distributed to Nevada college students, faculty, and staff today, June 5, from 1-4 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion ticket office, located in the breezeway on the ground level between the Cox Pavilion and the Thomas & Mack Center.
General public tickets will be distributed this afternoon from 4-6 p.m.
Additional tickets for students and general public will be available on Wednesday, June 6 from 12-6 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion ticket office.
One ticket per person will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to limited space, the White House will only be able to distribute a limited number of tickets.
Parking and Event Info
Public parking is available in the Black Parking Lot near the Cox Pavilion, with the public entrance on the south side of the building.
Doors open to the public at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are required for entry. Tickets are not for sale or re-sale. For security reasons, please do not bring bags and limit personal items. No signs or banners are permitted. All attendees will go through airport-like security. No backpacks will be allowed in the venue (small bags no greater than 12" x 12" will be permitted but subject to search). Containers of any kind, bottles, cans, guns, knives, pocket-knives, multi-tools, mace, pepper spray, or sharp objects of any kind, other weapons or other hazardous items are prohibited. No overnight camping will be allowed on campus at any time leading up to this event.
