Finding students and faculty to feature in this thank-you video for UNLV’s donors was the easy part. Choosing among the hundreds of programs helped by gifts to the university was more difficult.
UNLV received $32.8 million in private gifts from 8,670 donors during the 2012-13 fiscal year. The funds support every aspect of campus life and learning.
This video features students such as Kathryn Gonzales, Shatilla Prayer, Michelle Rios, Tatiana Stratilatoff, and Kristen Tardio, who are working their way through college with jobs that are funded through UNLV’s Annual Fund. Athletes like basketball’s Roscoe Smith and track’s Auzsane Crowe-Carter have been given a boost with gifts to Rebel athletics from nearly 1,000 donors.
Like hundreds of other programs, the School of Dental Medicine’s free pediatric clinic and the College of Fine Arts’ Performing Arts Center have benefitted from donations to individual colleges. Research, such as professor Bob Boehm’s work in solar energy, flourishes with donations directed toward faculty support. And more than 1,500 students across campus are able to pursue their academic dreams thanks to support from private gifts of scholarship.
