UNLV will celebrate the life and career of legendary former Runnin' Rebel head coach Jerry Tarkanian on Sunday, March 1, inside the Thomas & Mack Center.
The public is invited to join Tark's Tribute (#TarksTribute). There is no charge for parking and tickets are not needed for entry.
Doors to the Thomas & Mack Center will open at 1 p.m. and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and will last approximately 90 minutes.
Fans are encouraged to wear their Runnin' Rebel gear to the arena that became known affectionately as the Shark Tank.
The event will be emceed by ESPN personality and former UNLV student-athlete Kenny Mayne and include remarks by former players and colleagues along with video tributes and music performances.
The head coach of UNLV's 1990 NCAA National Championship team and member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Tarkanian passed away Feb. 11 at the age of 84.
