Local artist and UNLV alumnus Troy Gillett created an inspiring art piece to commemorate the 10th anniversary of this event. It brings attention to the Lied Libraries' archive of the memorial created in front of the New York-New York Hotel Casino in the months following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Lied Libraries' special collections worked with casino officials to catalog and preserve tokens of remembrance.
The sculpture and accompanying exhibit will be displayed in the entrance of the library until February 2012.
