Learning Spaces Galore: There is no better place to study on campus than at the Libraries. Group study rooms and collaborative study zones with flexible furniture accommodate lively discussion, while quiet study spaces are available for the individuals who prefer that. Meet with an Expert: You can meet with a subject liaison librarian one-on-one or with a small group to focus your research topic, identify and evaluate sources, and learn to search library databases effectively. Prevent last-minute stress: Schedule an appointment with your librarian now.
Explore our Unique Special Collections: The Special Collections Division promotes learning, discovery, and scholarship about Las Vegas, Southern Nevada, and gaming. Discover and browse images, documents, and oral histories from Special Collections.
Visit a Branch: In addition to Lied Library, students can visit any of our three branch libraries: Architecture Studies Library (ASL), Teacher Development and Resources Library (TDRL), and Music Library. The ASL is located in the Paul B. Sogg Architecture Building; the TDRL is housed on the first floor of the Carlson Education Building; and the Music Library is located in the Beam Music Center at the northeast corner of campus. Although the collections in each branch are focused on specific subjects, each library is open to all UNLV students for research and study.
Tutoring: The Academic Success Center’s drop-in tutoring lab is located on the second floor of Lied Library. Tutoring is free and open to currently enrolled students with a valid RebelCard. Typical subjects include: accounting, biology, chemistry, economics, math, physics, and Spanish. Tutoring hours: 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday; and 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
Interlibrary Loan: If the University Libraries doesn’t own an item you need, we can get it for you for free through interlibrary loan (ILL). Your home away from home: The University Libraries provides safe and secure spaces for you to explore, create, and achieve as a student at UNLV. Lied Library is open nearly 100 hours a week throughout the semester. The library collection includes more than 1.8 million volumes, 750,000 ebooks, and access to 300 databases. Services are provided by more than 110 full-time expert faculty and staff and 125 student assistants.
