On Aug. 6, the campus shuttle service will make its last rounds at UNLV. Eliminating parking shuttle service was a result of the most recent budget reductions for the university. Parking and Transportation Services has offered the shuttle for the past five years to meet the daily needs of faculty, staff, and students.
Parking and Transportation Services will continue planning efforts focusing on alternative modes of transportation and partnering with the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC). The Club Ride carpooling program implemented on our campus two years ago was a very successful partnership and discussions about future enhancements for the campus will continue.
At the current time, adjustments must also be made due to staffing during the transition from the current service provided and the elimination in August. As of Monday, July 12, all service will end at 9 p.m. Other changes in the hours of operation and scheduling may be required prior to Aug. 6.
Any questions can be directed to Parking and Transportation Services at 895-1300.
