William R. Speer (Education, Teaching & Learning) was awarded the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The award is presented for achievement in leadership, teaching, and service.Speer will be recognized during the 2018 NCTM Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C., in April.
Speer has been a professor of mathematics education at UNLV since 1996 and served as interim dean of the College of Education from 2009 to 2013. He is also an emeritus professor of mathematics and computer education at Bowling Green State University.
