Vishvaas Ravikumar (Medicine) is a 2022-23 recipient of the Society of Hospital Medicine's Student and Resident Research Grant, one of three selected nationally per year, for a quality improvement project on an educational intervention to optimize SEP and CBC lab orders in the hospital setting. He is a rising fourth-year medical student.

Dr. Sandhya Wahi-Gururaj (Medicine) is a faculty member in internal medicine program and is Vishvaas' research mentor for this project. Justin Bauzon, '22 MD, was instrumental in developing this project. Dr. Caleb Murphy, a graduate of the UNLV internal medicine residency program, serves as an additional mentor and physician member of Society of Hospital Medicine, operating out of University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
