Victor Fearn, Man Vu (both Computer Science) and external UNLV Clinic member Leo Guerrero, had the chance to present as part of the Datasec Cybersecurity CISO Innovation Summit event hosted at the International Innovation Center.
Datasec, organizers of the event, invited the Cyber Clinic to present after their earlier presentation this year at Tech Alley Las Vegas, a monthly event that fosters networking and collaboration within the local tech community.
The UNLV Cyber Clinic members presented the Clinic's mission, emphasizing its student-led approach to addressing cybersecurity challenges. They explained how the Clinic conducts cybersecurity assessments on local small businesses, demonstrating the direct impact of their work on the community. They also highlighted the Clinic's collaborations across different departments within the Clinic to provide real-world job experience for students. The three further discussed other initiatives of the Clinic, including its Junior Member Program, certification opportunities, and its focus on technical and soft skills.
The event focused on cutting-edge cybersecurity ideas, networking opportunities, and collaboration between universities, CISOs, and industry experts nationwide. Attendees included representatives from the College of Southern Nevada, the University of Arizona, ZOOX, Orrick, and Strongest Layer.
