Vanessa Marie Booth (Political Science, The Lincy Institute, Brookings Mountain West) has been selected to receive the 2022 Sam Lieberman Regents’ Scholar Award, announced this month by NSHE. Administered by the NSHE Board of Regents, the scholarship is awarded to only nine students — one undergraduate and graduate student from each Nevada institution — for their academic achievements, leadership ability, and service contributions throughout the state. In recognition of her contributions on campus, Booth will receive a $5,000 stipend funded by the NSHE administration.
The recipient of numerous honors, Booth is a Romanian-American rising junior in the Honors College studying for her BA in political science with a double minor in Brookings: public policy and journalism. She currently works as a research/communications intern for the director of national intelligence (DNI) office, and is a Chapman Cox Diplomacy Scholar at the U.S. Department of State. She also is a policy researcher for Brookings Mountain West & The Lincy Institute.
