The UNLV Athletics Business Office was selected as the recipient of the 2023 Innovation Team Award at this year’s National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) conference. The award is facilitated by the Collegiate Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA), and recognizes the most innovative project of the year among athletic business offices.
UNLV Athletics’ innovation project titled Rebel Invoices, used in-house developers to create a brand-new, user-friendly invoicing software that can manage receivables for both UNLV Athletics and The Thomas & Mack Center. This project was not only cost efficient, but also added value with labor savings, Workday efficiency, and increased accounts receivable (A/R) turnover.
Innovation is a core value of UNLV Athletics and this award showcases that commitment. The completion of this project has led to additional process improvements that optimize workflow, eliminate redundancies, and reduce process bottlenecks.
The project was spearheaded by Albert Loera from Financial Reporting & Analysis and Tim Baguley from TMC Computer Services. Additional developer support was provided by Pavel Doichev, along with business office support from Tomas Nava-Virrey, Chanel Stovall, Jennifer Del Valle, Julian Barzilli, Sam Morrone.
