Tyler D. Parry (African American and African Diaspora Studies Program; Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies) gave a public lecture at the Clark County Public Library, titled, "A History of Juneteenth: From Galveston, TX to Las Vegas, NV" on June 23, 2023, for the annual Juneteenth celebrations in Southern Nevada.
Additionally, Parry provided comment on the origins and meaning of the Juneteenth holiday for a Channel 8 News report that was televised on June 19, 2023.
