Tracy Johnson and Alysse Chavez (both Liberal Arts) presented at the 2018 National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Region 9 Conference in Santa Rosa, California. They presented "But, Nobody Told Me! Addressing Information that is Not Heard Through the Grapevine." The presentation focused on the familiar phrase from students, “but, nobody told me!” As advisors at the Wilson Advising Center, they are in a unique position to be a student's constant point of contact each semester. They want to promote active questioning techniques for students to use throughout their college experience. It is essential that students know that no one can possibly tell them everything they need to know. Academic advisors can encourage students to become active participants in the process of confidently asking questions, completing their degrees, and reaching their goals.
