Tim Grigsby (Social & Behavioral Health) co-authored an article, "Adverse Childhood Experiences and Sleep Difficulties among Young Adult College Students" in the Journal of Sleep Research.
This study examined the adverse childhood experience–sleep health (self-reported sleep difficulty and diagnosis of insomnia or “other” sleep disorder) association among college students. The study provides further evidence that ACE exposure is associated with negative health outcomes, specifically sleep health. Results suggest that much more work is needed to determine whether sociocultural factors, such as perceived discrimination and ethnic identity, play a role in stress-related health outcomes among diverse young adult, college student populations.
