Taylor Finelli (Electrical and Computer Engineering) received the Fall 2021 Cover Artwork Award from
Spectra Undergraduate Research Journal.
The office of undergraduate research solicits student submissions to have a student-designed cover for each spring and fall issue. The competitive award intends to foster student participation in the undergraduate research publication process and to better incorporate artistic and creative works into the research ecosystem at UNLV. The award is accompanied by a $500 monetary prize and a plaque.
Finelli, a second-year student, said he “wanted to create a design that had a modern and simplistic touch to it that simultaneously embodies the different areas of research that Spectra publishes." He chose a gradient for the background to represent the spectrum of research that gets published.
Readers may view Finelli’s cover artwork design in the second issue of the journal in the early spring. More information is available.
