Steven Bickmore (Teaching and Learning) writes a weekly academic blog on young adult literature. He writes twice a month and has guest academic contributors every other week. His post on June 15, "Say His Name!" was a personal response to the horrible event in Orlando. On June 22, the literacy blog of the National Council of Teachers of English picked his blog posting and republished it in part. This provides both Bickmore and UNLV a large national audience for his discussion of reading young adult literature in the English language arts classroom.
