Starr Hoffman and James Cheng (both Libraries) received an Academic Library Impact Research Grant from the Association of College Research Libraries (ACRL) for a project titled “Researchers on Academic Library Impact: Characteristics and Perspectives.”
The research project, building on interviews with library and higher educational professionals collected for the ACRL's Academic Library Impact: Improving Practice and Essential Areas to Research, will include collecting new interviews with professional librarians and researchers conducting research on the impact that academic libraries have on student success. Hoffman and Cheng hope to increase the diversity of perspectives by adding perspectives from non-administrative library professionals.
The project was one of eight proposals funded by ACRL from a highly competitive pool of applicants. Each project focuses on new research about library contributions to student learning and success as outlined in the Academic Library Impact report.
