The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV will begin creating a Division of Rheumatology, thanks to a generous donation from the Engelstad Foundation. The donation will be used to hire and train rheumatologists, helping combat a severe shortage of the specialists in Southern Nevada. Rheumatologists typically treat arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions and systemic diseases that can cause pain, swelling, and stiffness in joints, muscles, and bones.
