Sanae El Ibrahimi (Epidemiology and Biostatistics) and colleagues from Comagine Health (Michelle A. Hendricks, Sara Hallvik, Christi Hildebran), Brigham & Women’s Hospital (Scott G. Weiner, Michael A. Fischer), and Brandeis University (Grant Ritter) presented a poster at the 2021 Academy Health virtual Annual Research Meeting titled “Defining the Danger: Using a Comprehensive Public Health Dataset to Determine Risk Factors for Opioid Overdose Following an Initial Prescription.”
This epidemiological cohort study used a comprehensive large public health linked datasets from Oregon to assess patient and prescription factors related to increased risk of opioid overdose (fatal and non-fatal) in patients who were previously opioid naïve.
