Sanae El Ibrahimi (Community Health Sciences) won first prize for a student poster presentation at the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries annual meeting in Austin, Texas. She presented a poster abstract examining racial disparities in terms of stage at diagnosis of cervical cancer in Nevada females. In March, she presented a peer-reviewed poster at the American Society for Preventive Oncology conference in Memphis, Tenn. This study assessed the effect of marriage on the stage of diagnosis and survival of women with cervical cancer using population-based data from the surveillance, epidemiology and end results geographic areas. She is a master's student in public health who works under the supervision of professor Paulo Pinheiro.
