Samuel Cohler, Henry Krasner, Kavita Batra, and Syed Saquib (all Medicine) published a study "The Individual-Level and Community-Level Social Determinants of Burn Injuries: A Single-Institution Study From the Southwestern United States" in the Journal of Burn Care and Research. This study emphasizes the importance of developing comprehensive burn prevention resources tailored to vulnerable populations, especially in regions with increased incidence of severe burn injuries, in order to reduce burn burden and mortality. Cohler and Krasner are medical students and were co-mentored by Dr. Batra and Dr. Saquib. Findings of this study were also presented in a national conference.
