Drs. Matthew Earle, James Bailey, and Ross P. Berkeley (all Medicine) co-authored a case report titled "Hampton’s Hump – a Notable Finding in a Patient with Infectious Endocarditis," which recently was published in the peer-reviewed Case Reports in Emergency Medicine. The case involved a previously healthy 35 year-old woman who presented to the emergency department with gradually progressive dyspnea, weight loss, and lower extremity edema, with a chest X-ray finding of a peripheral wedge-shaped opacity that led to a diagnosis of infectious endocarditis. All three doctors are in the emergency medical department, with Earle being a 2021 emergency medicine residency graduate.
