Rian Satterwhite (Service Learning & Leadership) recently presented at The Research University Civic Engagement Network (TRUCEN) and Campus Compact national conferences. Topics included a recent collaborative research initiative studying how institutions of higher education engage with and compensate community partners for their time and collaboration, a dialogue group exploring effective institutional initiatives enhancing democratic engagement on campus, and a workshop co-facilitated with Neeraja Aravamudan, director of the University of Michigan's Ginsburg Center, on the use of liberating structures to enhance strategic planning processes.
Satterwhite will also be co-leading a new national dialogue group within TRUCEN on the topic of sustainability and community engagement alongside Dovev Levine, assistant dean for graduate student affairs and assistant vice provost for outreach and engagement at the University of New Hampshire.
