In the recent American Psychological Association (APA) Division 27 Community Psychology - Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA) 2023 Biennial Conference, "Where Do We Go From Here? Dreaming New Community Futures," which was held June 20-24, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia, Renato M. Liboro, Sherry Bell, and Brandon Ranuschio (all Psychology) of the CHAMPION Mental Health Lab gave multiple presentations on their recent community-based participatory research work. Liboro presented, "The Resilience of Racially and Ethnically Diverse, Middle-Aged and Older Men Who Have Sex with Men to the Clinical and Social Impacts of HIV/AIDS," in a resilience-focused symposium panel, while Bell and Ranuschio presented the conference posters, "Urban City Development Recommendations for Promoting Resilience to HIV: A Qualitative Analysis of Perspectives on Healthcare and Social Services in the Southwest United States," and "Community Awareness of HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorder Among Healthcare and Service Providers in Southern Nevada: An Exploratory Survey," respectively.
Liboro also gave two presentations at the International LGBTQ+ Psychology Conference, "Preaching to the Choir 2023," which was held June 21-22, 2023, in Toronto, Canada. These included an oral presentation, "Keeping the Faith: Canadian Gay Men Living with HIV/AIDS, Their Catholic Devotion, and Greater Wellbeing," and a presentation for a roundtable discussion on "Provincial Legislation: A Macrosystem-level Intervention for Supporting LGBT Youth in Publicly Funded Schools."
