Dr. Rajany Dy (Medicine) published an original research paper “Thrombosis, Bleeding, and the Observational Effect of Early Therapeutic Anticoagulation on Survival in Critically Ill Patients With COVID-19” in Annals of Internal Medicine Journal. Dy is one of the principal investigators of the STOP-COVID study, a multicenter cohort study of 3,239 critically ill adults with COVID-19. The investigators evaluated the incidence of venous thromboembolism and major bleeding in critically ill patients with COVID-19 and examined the observational effect of early therapeutic anticoagulation on survival. Dy and her co-authors found that among critically ill adults with COVID-19, early therapeutic anticoagulation did not affect survival in the target trial emulation.
