Rachell Ekroos (Nursing) is a co-author of "Evidence Management of Self‐Collected Items – A Targeted Gap Analysis" published in Evidence Technology Magazine. In this forensic nursing feature article, the authors explore several considerations related to the self-collection of evidence following a sexual assault including the victim post-assault activities, health care provider dual roles in response to patients reporting sexual assault,  health care providers as collectors of evidence, and, system responses regarding medical management of evidence and subsequent probative value.
