Rachel Anderson (Law) was one of the recipients of the Medal of Justice awarded by the State Bar of Nevada for the Black History Month issue of Nevada Lawyer, which was published in February. This historic issue was a joint venture between the Las Vegas chapter of the National Bar Association (LVNBA) and the State Bar of Nevada and celebrates the contributions of African-American lawyers in Nevada against the backdrop of the civil rights movement on a state level and a national level. The issue celebrates successes and achievements while also acknowledging wrongs and injustices with which our society is still coming to grips. Sharing the award with Anderson were attorney Kathleen England, who served as her co-chair, issue editor Beau Sterling, and the LVNBA. Authors from UNLV who contributed content to the issue included Joanne Goodwin (History), Jeanne Price (Law), Claytee White (Libraries), and John Valery White (Provost).
