UNLV students enrolled in assistant professor Cheryl Abbate's (Philosophy) courses "Animals and Philosophy" (Honors) and "Animal Ethics" (PHIL 277) raised $1700 for the Poppy Foundation (a Las Vegas cat rescue) during the "Thrifting for Animals" event held December 5. The classes are especially grateful to the philosophy department for paying the costs associated with the event and delivery services for transporting the event donations.
