Patricia A. Heisser Metoyer ( Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies) recently was selected by the University of California, Irvine Alumni Association to be interviewed for an alumni data confirmation and oral history initiative. She was the first Black/African American woman to receive a Ph.D., magna cum laude, in psychology from UCI. She was also the first Black/ African American woman to be awarded an American Psychological Association accredited fellowship from UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute in Clinical Psychology. She is listed in Who's Who in America. The oral history project is sponsored by the UCI Libraries and the oral historian is Krystal Tribbett, who was the UCI 50th Anniversary Oral Historian who produced UCI Stories and a renowned Black academic staff member at the university. Heisser Metoyer also is an English MFA candidate.
