Oak Vichaikul (Liberal Arts) has been elected to serve as president of the Western Association of Prelaw Advisors (WAPLA) for 2019–22. The assistant director and pre-law coordinator in the College of Liberal Arts' Wilson Advising Center, Vichaikul will serve as president-elect for 2018–19, and has served on the WAPLA Executive Board as a member at-large for the past four years. He is also the WAPLA site supervisor for UNLV and will continue to coordinate the Law Fair that is hosted on the UNLV campus every fall. In his role as WAPLA president, he also will represent the WAPLA region on the Prelaw Advisors National Council. WAPLA serves pre-law advisors in the states of Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
