The Nevada Minority Health and Equity Coalition (NMHEC) received an award from the National Foundation for Centers and Disease Control and Prevention for a total of $128,000. In partnership with the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health and the Nevada Office of Minority Health and Equity (NOMHE), NMHEC was selected to participate in the Strategies to Repair Equity and Transform Community Health (STRETCH) 2.0 initiative by the CDC Foundation.
The goal of STRETCH 2.0 will be to expand the capabilities of statewide partners to identify, respond to, and address health disparities in their local areas by offering skill-based training, providing technical assistance when needed, and hosting the 2024 Impact Summit.
NMHEC is housed under the School of Public Health.
