Nancy Lough (Educational Psychology and Higher Education) was an invited speaker at the 2019 Inclusive Sport Summit hosted by the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her talk was titled "Awareness Leading to Action: The Impact of Women on the Evolution of Sport." She also moderated the panel "Beyond the Surface, Beyond Policies: The Underlying Concern." The panel was comprised of women athletic administrators and coaches and addressed questions related to overcoming stereotypes, work-life balance, glass ceiling/glass cliff, and the good old boys club.
The summit focused on areas such as social justice, LGBTQ, careers in sport, race and ethnicity, health and wellness, and youth sports, all tying into one theme "Awareness Leading to Action." The platform of sport and recreation provided an opportunity for individuals from around the world to engage in a community that is centered on a common goal; the will to win and achieve greatness. Through this common goal, the aim was to create space and honor differences to achieve success and inclusion.
