Muhammad Sohail Akhter, Asma Awan, and Manoj Sharma (all Social and Behavioral Health) presented a paper titled, "The role of palliative care in improving the quality of life among cancer patients: A systematic review" at the 2024 Nevada Public Health Association Annual Conference held virtually on April 17, 2024. The presentation highlighted the results from the systematic review, emphasizing the importance of an association between palliative care interventions and improvements in the quality of life of cancer survivors. The findings suggested that palliative care interventions seem to have a positive impact on Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and helps in managing adverse events. Akhter is a graduate student.
