Mehdi Abid and Keith Daniel Tan (both Computer Science) were invited to present on the UNLV Cyber Clinic at the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Small Business Cybersecurity Webinar - University-Based Cybersecurity Clinic: Educating the Next Generation of Cybersecurity Leaders While Safeguarding Small Businesses.
The panel also included input from fellow Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics member, Louisiana State University's Cybersecurity Clinic, opening remarks by NICE | NIST director Rodney Petersen, and was moderated by NIST lead for small business engagement Daniel Eliot.
As cyber program administrator, Abid discussed the unique operations and goals of UNLV’s Clinic and how the clinic serves community small businesses, while CyberCorps SFS student and UNLV Cyber Clinic member Tan shared how work in the clinic helps reduce the gap between academic learning and real-world applications.
