Md. Sohail Akhter, Asma Awan, and Manoj Sharma (all Social and Behavioral Health) presented a poster tilted “The role of yoga in improving the quality of life among breast cancer survivors: A systematic review” at the American Public Health Association 2024 Annual Meeting October 27-30, 2024, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as part of the Integrative, Complementary and Traditional Health Practices session. This study aimed to systematically review the existing literature on the association between yoga interventions and improvements in the quality of life of breast cancer survivors. Overall, the findings suggested that yoga interventions seem to have a positive impact on QoL and fatigue among breast cancer survivors. The use of behavioral theories can improve acceptance and long-term sustenance of yoga practice. Akhter is a PhD student.
