Maryam Hadi and Elizabeth Stacy (both Life Sciences) have published: "An optimized RNA extraction method for diverse leaves of Hawaiian Metrosideros, a hypervariable tree species complex" in the journal Applications in Plant Sciences. This paper describes a safe and relatively rapid protocol for RNA extraction from a range of morphologically diverse tree taxa for subsequent gene expression experiments. Hadi is a Ph.D. candidate investigating patterns of gene family evolution in adaptive radiations of Metrosideros and Myrtaceae.
