Maggie Farrell (Libraries) has been appointed as the American Libraries Association representative to the Board of Trustees for the American Library in Paris. During this two-year term, which runs through December 2024, Farrell will serve as an ex-officio member of the board and support educational and professional opportunities between the American Library in Paris and the American Library Association. The American Library in Paris was established in 1920 under the American Library Association with a core collection of books and periodicals that had been donated by American libraries to United States armed forces personnel serving in World War I. The library has since grown into the largest English-language lending library on the European continent.
