Lizette Arellano, José Galindo and Patricia Zavala (all World Languages and Cultures) presented research papers at the 12th annual Hispanic Studies Graduate Student Conference at the University of California, Riverside earlier this month. Galindo presented “Oppression, Authoritarianism and Religion in Nada.” Zavala presented “The Impact of the Spanish Transition Reflected in the Quinqui Cinema." “Cien Años de Soleda: The Preservation of the Historical and Cultural Memory in Latin America” was Arellano's topic. All three students are pursuing masters of arts degrees in Hispanic studies.
