Linda Stetzenbach (Environmental & Occupational Health) was appointed by the National Academy of Sciences as one of 14 members to its Committee on Protecting Occupants of Department of Defense (DOD) Buildings from Chemical or Biological Release. The committee, which convened for the first time in September, will conduct a study for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency to aid in planning, design, and construction of chemical and biologically resistant buildings for the DOD. Meeting for two days each month through 2007, the committee will examine studies on existing facilities to determine how current science and technology can improve upon established protection systems.
