Leeann Fields (Educational Compliance) has been appointed by Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak to serve on the Commission on Educational Technology. The term ends Dec. 31, 2021.
Fields fills a voting seat on the commission for an “administrator in a public school who possesses knowledge and experience in the general application of technology.” The commission is charged with establishing a plan for use of educational technology, and recommending methods to incorporate such technology into the public schools, increasing the number of students in public schools who have access to it, and supporting teachers as they incorporate educational technology in the classroom.
Fields already has been leading the way at UNLV for its compliance with State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements, which establishes comparable national standards for interstate offerings of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. She also is a founder of the Nevada State Authorization Network under NSHE.
